Welcome to my creative world! My name is Ben Jaimen, and I’m an artist driven by a passion for creating magical, mysterious, and sometimes slightly off-kilter works of art. My journey in art is guided by a deep fascination with the colors and moods found in the natural and urban landscapes, particularly the mesmerizing hues of a city at dusk. Through my work, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder, inviting viewers to step into the scenes I create and explore the emotions and stories within them.
My approach to art is both intuitive and fluid. I often begin with a loose, water-laden wash, allowing the paint to flow and the composition to develop organically. Rather than getting caught up in the details early on, I let the piece take shape naturally, gradually refining it as I go. One of my favorite techniques is using a sharp tool to scrape off layers of paint, creating ultra-thin lines that add depth and texture to my work—something that a traditional brush simply can’t achieve.
Color is at the heart of my work. I have a natural instinct for color selection, and I often find myself drawn to a vibrant palette that spans from deep purples to rich oranges, including bold magentas. My goal is always to create paintings that are as colorful and visually stimulating as possible, inviting viewers to experience the energy and emotion that each piece holds.
Throughout my work, you’ll find recurring symbols and motifs that hold deep significance for me. From impossible geometries to expansive crescent moons, dancing figures, and magical lighting, these elements are a reflection of both my imagination and the serendipity of abstract creation. Whether I’m pulling figures from the chaos of random forms or exaggerating the elements of a real-life scene, my art is a concentrated version of the inspiration that drives it.
What I hope to achieve through my art is a genuine connection with you, the viewer. I want my work to resonate with you, to draw you into the scene, and to inspire you to imagine these pieces in your own space. Art, for me, is about enhancing the personality of a home, making it a place of beauty, wonder, and reflection.
